Toronto, Canada — Sirit Inc. has launched its INfinity 110 (IN110) high-frequency (HF) reader module designed for embedded RFID applications. The compact IN110, which measures 35.0 x 34.0 x 4.0 mm, allows for easy integration into RFID devices such as handheld readers, mobile or stationary printers and point-of-sale terminals.

The IN110 leverages Texas Instruments' TRF7960 chip and provides application developers with a variety of tag choices by supporting numerous protocols. These include ISO 14443A and B, ISO 15693, TI Tag-it , NXP EPC, NXP UID, NXP iCode, NXP MIFARE, Ultralite, and Inside PicoTag. Applications include security and access control, electronic payments, ticketing, e-passports, document tracking, patron management, product authentication and medical uses such as patient management and pharmaceuticals tracking.

The IN110 is designed to meet FCC part 15 and ETSI EN300-330 specifications and features low power consumption with a 3.3-volt power supply requirement, which makes it suitable for low-power or battery-operated mobile devices. RF output power is 200 mW maximum. It provides secure firmware downloads via a serial interface, which allows for field upgrades.

Pricing: Approximately $85 in small quantities and below $40 in 500+ quantities. The development kit is priced at $349 and includes a reader module, interface board, reference antenna, 10-pin data cable, power supply and a CD with all documentation and demonstration applications.
